The Avid 40mm Xray Shock Shaft Conversion gets rid of the highly annoying e-clip mounting for your pistons. Our system has the perfect tolerance so when you fully tighten down the screw the piston is still allowed to slightly spin keeping it from deforming. To finish them off they are chrome-plated to ensure the smoothest surface possible.

• These shafts only work with our Avid Xray Conversion Pistons.

Tips

• When installing, we recommend that you place the shiny side of the washer that has rounded edges away from the piston. Doing this allows the piston to slightly spin when the screw is fully tightened down so it doesn't deform the piston under the screw pressure.
• If you are a racer that likes to tinker, our AE Chrome Shock Shafts will also work with the Xray Avid Conversion Pistons. AE signifies their shock shaft length by the stroke so the front 23mm shaft is 43.35mm long and the rear 27.5mm shaft is 47.82mm long. The only other difference is that the AE shock end threads are 7mm where the Xray Avid Conversion Shafts are 7.75mm, but you should have no trouble screwing them in further.
