Product Overview

Originally introduced a few decades ago overseas, and with T-works reintroducing it 6 years ago, they finally became available outside of those markets. This cleaner system is great for cleaning your bearings and small parts without having to carry around a sonic cleaner with you.

How to use

  • For cleaning bearings, remove your rubber seals (click here for our example from 2003). If running metal shields it is up to you if you want to go insane trying to take the micro c-clips off. There is typically enough gap to get the fluid to pass through the bearing without having to remove the metal shields.
  • Place them in the metal basket and into the plastic tube.
  • Fill the tube with Zep's citrus cleaner (Home Depot or Amazon), DO NOT USE brake cleaner or anything that will eat plastic.
  • Screw on the cap.
  • Get to shaking!
  • Remove the basket and spin the bearings in your fingers or with the Avid Bearing Tool to see if they have freed up. Repeat until they are free.
  • Remember that sometimes you just can't bring a bearing back if you have run it too long without service. It will always feel gritty from the pitting on the inner races no matter how clean you get it.
  • Dry off with a towel and / or light air compressor but don't let the bearing spin from the air while drying for this can over spin the bearing and damage it.
  • Lastly relube the bearing. For 10th we recommend our Slip bearing oil and for 8th our Slide bearing grease.
