4wd on carpet is notoriously hard to drive. Instead of chasing setup tweaks or adjusting your driving style, we took a different approach. The 4wd Front Slim Wheel runs a 2wd slim front tire to better balance the car and calm the steering, giving the front end a much more familiar 2wd feel while maintaining the proper offset and width for 4wd. The result is a car that’s easier to drive, more predictable, and doesn’t force you to relearn your inputs when switching between classes.

The real advantage is consistency. Less overdriving, fewer mistakes, and lower mental load. In testing, lap times held steady or improved in certain conditions simply because the car was easier to drive clean. If your 4wd feels edgy, you’ll notice the benefit immediately. If your car is already dialed, these still improve long-run consistency, though you may want to add a touch of steering back in. Bonus: one front tire setup for both 2wd and 4wd. The Avid Truss 10th Wheel was built for performance, offering premium features rarely seen in today’s repetitive wheel designs. The most striking is the concave face, which enhances reflections from the polished finish while keeping the face vertical to protect the wheel nut and axles when the straightaway pipe becomes a berm. Inside, six ribs reduce rotating mass, and our symmetric triangle truss sits where the hex transfers the most torque, cutting down on wheel fatigue. The inner glue bead ribs are shortened to let the foam absorb impact on landings instead of the tire hitting the rib. Finally, the wheel nut area has fewer cutouts, leaving more material to handle aggressive serrated nuts, a design we pioneered over a decade ago.
